Complacency is your worst enemy.
Bob Rice is Managing Partner of Tangent Capital Partners, a registered broker-dealer and merchant bank based in New York. His provocative views are the product of a diverse background as an entrepreneur, public company CEO, investor, technologist, banker, and lawyer.
Bob began his career at the U.S. Department of Justice as a trial attorney. He then spent several years as a partner at Wall Street’s Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy, where he focused on structured financial products.
In the late ‘90s he left the law and founded a technology venture that merged into a public company. As CEO of the combined entities, Bob created one of the earliest and most popular digital media and advertising platforms (Viewpoint, VWPT), positioning the company for a subsequent sale.
In 2004 he joined the New York Angels investment consortium, and has been an active investor in, and board member of, numerous technology companies since then. He has also served as Commissioner of the global Professional Chess Association.
Currently, Bob is a Director of EULAV Asset Management and Jubak Asset Management (which oversee assets in excess of $2 billion) as well as Angelsoft.net, the world’s leading platform for early stage equity investors (with over 30,000 users). He is a frequent television guest and lecturer on technology trends and the economy, and is the author of the popular strategy book and blog Three Moves Ahead.
